SUMMARY:Mining landscapes Cardenden walk
DESCRIPTION:Find echoes of Cardenden’s mining history – some still visible\, others hidden\, on a walk through history. \nFollowing a route researched as part of an ‘Eco-museum’ of Scottish Mining Landscapes\, we’ll walk around Cardenden and the nearby woodland. We’ll travel back in time by looking at archive photos of past landmarks as we go. Come and discover what lies just beneath the surface! \nPart of the Communities Connected programme. \nAdditional Information\nPlease note that this walk is weather-dependent. In the event of forecast adverse weather\, Greener Kirkcaldy staff will decide whether to go ahead with the walk the day before. We will contact attendees via phone and email if the walk cannot go ahead. \nParticipants should be able to walk 2 miles at a leisurely pace. The route is mostly flat with some steeper sections\, on pavements and woodland tracks. May be muddy/wet in places. \nPlease wear appropriate clothes for the weather. \nUnder 16’s must me accompanied by an adult. Alternatively there are toilets available in shops and cafes in town.
