SUMMARY:Kirkcaldy evening bat walk
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening walk\, discovering the bats that live around Beveridge Park and learning more about these fascinating creatures. A ‘bat detector’ device will enable us to listen in on their world. Led by Tony Wilson\, local naturalist. \nThe 2-mile (max) walk will take around 2 hours\, and be on mainly flat surfaces: tarmac\, pavement and path. Suitable for all ages (children must be accompanied). \nNo dogs on this walk\, please. \nBooking Information\nFull price: £10 \nChildren under 12: Free \nGreener Kirkcaldy members/volunteers: £9 \nConcessions and 12-17 year olds**: £8 \nRefund policy – We can refund your order up until 7 days before the event. If you cancel your order less than 7 days before the event we will be unable to provide a refund. \nAdditional Information \nPlease note that this walk is weather-dependent. In the event of forecast adverse weather\, Greener Kirkcaldy staff will decide whether to go ahead with the walk the day before. We will contact attendees via phone\, email and any cancellation will be also posted on Facebook if the walk cannot go ahead. \nContact us if you need any more information. \nPlease wear appropriate clothes for the weather. DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the first day of the October Break with a family-friendly litter-picking walk and colourful autumn leaf spotting at Beveridge Park. \nJoin Rubbish Rangers and Greener Kirkcaldy for a fun morning of exploring nature and helping to keep our park beautiful. \nCome together to care for one of Kirkcaldy’s favourite parks and show your loved ones why protecting nature matters. Spend quality time outdoors with family and friends\, admire the autumn colours\, and make a positive difference along the way. \nThe walk will be up to 1 mile and will take approximately 1.5 hours. The route is mainly on flat surfaces\, including tarmac paths\, pavements\, and grass\, making it suitable for all ages. \nChildren must be accompanied by an adult. Please note that dogs are not permitted on this walk. Contact us if you would like any further information. \nAdditional Information\nPlease note that this event is weather-dependent. In the event of forecast adverse weather\, Greener Kirkcaldy staff will decide whether to go ahead with the walk the day before. We will contact attendees via phone and email if the walk cannot go ahead. \nDress for the outdoors – wear appropriate shoes and clothing. Bringing water and light snacks for young kids is advised as well. As this event is organised with children in mind\, dogs are not permitted. \nLitter pickers\, high‑vis vests for kids\, bin bags\, and children’s gardening gloves will be provided. Disposable gloves will be available for adult participants\, but you’re welcome to bring your own gardening gloves if you prefer. \nBooking Instructions\nThe event is free but booking is required.
