SUMMARY:Aberdour to Dalgety Bay – Fife Coastal Path walk (one way route)
DESCRIPTION:We start in the pretty coastal village of Aberdour\, taking a peek at the impressive castle before setting off through woods and farmland along the Fife Coastal Path. We’ll end our walk at beautiful St Bridget’s Kirk in Dalgety Bay\, with its fascinating gravestones overlooking the sea. This is a one-way route. \nAberdour is well-served by trains and buses\, and at the end of the route\, participants can choose to walk back to Aberdour independently\, or will be guided to nearby bus stops serving routes to Aberdour\, Kinghorn\, Kirkcaldy and beyond. \nPlease bring your own drinks and snacks if required (there are shops and cafes in Aberdour).\nPart of our Communities Connected programme and Fife Climate Festival. \nAdditional Information\nPlease note that this walk is weather-dependent. In the event of forecast adverse weather\, Greener Kirkcaldy staff will decide whether to go ahead with the walk the day before. We will contact attendees via phone and email if the walk cannot go ahead. \nParticipants should be able to walk 3 miles at an easy pace. The walk is on pavement and track\, mostly level. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. No dogs on this walk\, please. \nPlease wear appropriate clothes for the weather. Remember to also bring your own water and snacks if you feel you need them. \nIf you want to know more specific information about the route please contact us. Donations help us do more work in our community. \nOur booking form includes a series of optional anonymous questions. These help us learn more about the people we reach through our events. Any information you choose to share about your background is managed separately to information that you give us to process your booking (for example\, your name). \nIf you are having trouble booking you can call 01592 858458 or email info@greenerkirkcaldy.org.uk for assistance. \nAccessibility information\nAlthough much of the route is on well-surfaced tarmac tracks\, the pavements in Aberdour may be challenging for a wheelchair. If you have accessibility requirements\, please contact us for further information and we will advise. \nAccessible parking available at Aberdour Station. \nToilets are available in cafes/pubs in Aberdour (for customers)\, and public toilets on Shore Road. There are no public toilets at the Dalgety Bay end of the walk\, however there may be shops nearby with toilet facilities.
