DESCRIPTION:We are all guilty of throwing out unwanted clothes and textiles for one reason or another… too big\, too small\, old fashioned etc. A lot the time we actually still like the fabric… so why not upcycle it into something you can use instead? \nA coat or jacket can be made into a stylish bag\, a jumper into a cardigan\, a man’s shirt into a child’s summer dress. Come along to our workshop and our experienced sewing tutor\, Gabbi will teach you the skills to change your old garment into something you will re-love. \nAll sewing equipment and machines provided. Just bring along your old garments or fabrics that you wish to upcycle (please make sure they are clean)\, and any accessories you’d like to use. DESCRIPTION:Further to the Government’s recent update on COVID-19\, we have taken the decision to postpone all of our events from now until the 15th May. Full refunds will be given. \nWe are reviewing the situation daily and will give regular updates on future events\, including new dates for postponed events. \nBring your own project and sew with others at our new fortnightly ‘Sew and Chat’ group. \nWhether you’re struggling a bit with a project and looking for advice\, or just want to meet new people and sew in a group\, we’ll be meeting every other Wednesday for a fun evening with lots of chat\, tea and biscuits\, and\, of course\, plenty of sewing! \nAll abilities welcome. Bring your own project (including your materials\, threads etc.) to work on. It can be anything from the basics to ballgowns! It’s a social evening\, so there’s no formal teaching\, but our sewing tutor\, Gabbi\,will be on hand for guidance\, advice and help. \nWe’ll have some sewing machines available for people to use. Refreshments will be provided. \n£5 per session – payable on the night. No need to book.

SUMMARY:May Fuel Efficient Driver Training
DESCRIPTION:No matter how well or efficiently you think you drive\, you can always pick up some useful tips in our FREE Fuel Efficient Driver Training (FEDT). Car technology and road infrastructure have changed\, so our training can help you drive more efficiently. In our last campaign we helped almost 100 people in our community save an average of 15% on their fuel consumption. \nFEDT is an informal training session that lasts 50 minutes and takes place with an Approved Trainer. Here is what our trainer James Coutts has to say about the course: “The first thing I always say is that it’s not a driving test (you’re not going to get a telling-off for crossing your hands on the steering wheel and you won’t be asked to perform an emergency stop!). The aim is to make the training very relaxed and enjoyable and the benefits are endless: participants can gain substantial savings by reducing fuel; less pollution from your car thus protecting the environment; and less wear and tear on tyres and brakes etc.” \nThe trainer provides the car\, fuel and insurance. You’ll complete a circuit twice\, once before training and again after training. Miles per gallon is measured for both circuits so you can work out how much you can save. \nPlease note – you must bring your valid driving license with you or you won’t be able to do the training. \n  \nBooking Information\n\nThis event is free \, but booking is required. Full refunds will be given. \nWe are reviewing the situation daily and will give regular updates on future events\, including new dates for postponed events. \nBring your own project and sew with others at our new fortnightly ‘Sew and Chat’ group. \nWhether you’re struggling a bit with a project and looking for advice\, or just want to meet new people and sew in a group\, we’ll be meeting every other Wednesday for a fun evening with lots of chat\, tea and biscuits\, and\, of course\, plenty of sewing! \nAll abilities welcome. Bring your own project (including your materials\, threads etc.) to work on. It can be anything from the basics to ballgowns! It’s a social evening\, so there’s no formal teaching\, but our sewing tutor\, Gabbi\,will be on hand for guidance\, advice and help. \nWe’ll have some sewing machines available for people to use. Refreshments will be provided. \n£5 per session – payable on the night. No need to book.

DESCRIPTION:Join us to celebrate the launch of our new building and The Lang Spoon Community Kitchen – a place for people to come together to cook\, eat and learn. \nCome and look round our new community building\, which includes two community kitchens\, an events space\, a kitchen garden\, a new distribution point for Kirkcaldy Foodbank\, and is the base of our Cosy Kingdom energy advice team\, free bike borrowing scheme (which includes 6 electric bikes!) and new Community Fridge. \nWe’ll have tours of our kitchens and soft drinks and nibbles. We’ll also be joined by a very special guest to help us celebrate our launch – Jamie Scott\, Head Chef and Patron of The Newport Restaurant\, and BBC Professional MasterChef winner from Fife. SUMMARY:April Fuel Efficient Driver Training
DESCRIPTION:No matter how well or efficiently you think you drive\, you can always pick up some useful tips in our FREE Fuel Efficient Driver Training (FEDT). Car technology has changed as well as road infrastructure so our training can help you drive more efficiently. In our last campaign we helped almost 100 people in our community save an average of 15% on their fuel consumption. \nFEDT is an informal training session that lasts 50 minutes and takes place with an Approved Trainer. Here is what our trainer James Coutts has to say about the course: “The first thing I always say is that it’s not a driving test (you’re not going to get a telling-off for crossing your hands on the steering wheel and you won’t be asked to perform an emergency stop!). The aim is to make the training very relaxed and enjoyable and the benefits are endless: participants can gain substantial savings by reducing fuel; less pollution from your car thus protecting the environment; and less wear and tear on tyres and brakes etc.” \nThe trainer provides the car\, fuel and insurance. You’ll complete a circuit twice\, once before training and again after training. Miles per gallon is measured for both circuits so you can work out how much you can save. \nPlease note – you must bring your valid driving license with you or you won’t be able to do the training. \n  \nBooking Information\n\nThis event is free\, but booking is required.
