SUMMARY:Community Meal
DESCRIPTION:Our weekly Community Meal provides an opportunity for local people to meet each other\, share stories\, and eat together. Our aim is to turn surplus and unsold food into nutritious meals that anyone in our community can share with dignity and choice. \nWe’d love you to come and join us. Everyone is welcome and the meals are run on a pay what you feel basis. Any donations help to support the cost of the meal. \nSeating time: From 4pm \nBooking: Call us on 01592 858458 to book a place before 12 noon on Wednesday\, or sign up at the meal for the next week. \nThere is limited disabled parking available only and the building is wheelchair and mobility friendly. \nFind out how to get to our community building at 8 East Fergus Place.

SUMMARY:People's Emergency Briefing - Fife Elected Members Film Screening
DESCRIPTION:What’s happening with climate and nature\, and what does it mean for communities across Fife and the UK? \nGreener Kirkcaldy is inviting Councillors\, MSPs and MPs to join us for a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing\, followed by a discussion about the implications for our communities and the role of local and national decision-makers. \nThe briefing brings together leading UK scientists and experts to present the latest evidence on the climate and nature crisis and its impacts on everyday life\, including: \n\nExtreme weather\nFood security\nPublic health and wellbeing\nCost of living pressures\nNature loss and biodiversity\nNational security\n\nBased on the National Emergency Briefing in Westminster\, and featured by ITV\, Channel 4 and The Times\, the film includes contributions from Chris Packham\, Deborah Meaden and a range of voices from across the UK. \n \nFollowing the screening\, there will be an opportunity for discussion and reflection on what the evidence means for Fife\, Scotland and the UK. We will explore the challenges and opportunities facing our communities\, including climate adaptation\, community resilience\, public health\, nature\, energy\, food systems and local economic resilience. \nThis event is part of a series of briefings taking place across the UK to bring constituents\, civic leaders and elected representatives together to engage with the latest evidence and consider what an emergency response should look like. \nWho should attend?\nThis event is intended for elected representatives\, including Councillors\, MSPs and MPs. \nBooking Information\nThe event is free but booking is required. You can choose to purchase a ticket with a donation. Donations help us do more work in our community. \nOur booking form includes a series of optional anonymous questions. These help us learn more about the people we reach through our events.
