SUMMARY:Monthly climate cafe - September (online event)
DESCRIPTION:Be part of tackling climate change – join us for monthly films\, guest speakers and discussions.\n\nThis month we will be hosting an online event: a film showing of the award-winning 2017 documentary Blue\, followed by an online discussion.\n\n\n \nHalf of all marine life has been lost in the last 40 years. By 2050 there will be more plastic in the sea than fish.  We can no longer think of our seas and rivers as a place of resources\, a dumping ground\, immune to change or decline. \nBlue takes us on a journey into the lives of the people\, plants and animals that depend on ocean for their survival. The story of the way of our activities are altering the ocean is told through the accounts of passionate advocates for ocean preservation who working at the heart of these changing environments. We meet those who are defending habitats\, campaigning against exploitative commercial fishing\, combating marine pollution\, and fighting for the protection of keystone species. Blue comes at a time where decisions made today will pave the legacy for what we leave behind for generations to come. \n\nWatch at home with us on Wednesday 2nd September\, then join with others in the local community for our live post-film discussion. \n\n  \nBooking Information \nThe film showing and discussion is free but booking is required as places are limited. \nWe’ll send out a joining link to attendees to allow them to join on the day. \nIf you have any problems booking\, or any questions\, please phone 01592 858458 or email info@greenerkirkcaldy.org.uk.
