SUMMARY:Fife Climate Knowhow
DESCRIPTION:Our two-part Fife Climate Knowhow course shares all you need to know about the climate emergency and how it can affect our lives. \nWorkshop 1: Climate Science & Justice – Tuesday 16th June\, 10am–2pm \nWorkshop 2: Climate Action & Conversations – Tuesday 23rd June\, 10am–2pm \nThis two-part programme of workshops in June supports you to: \n\nLearn together about the science behind climate change by taking part in a Climate Fresk collage\nReflect on the local and global impacts of climate change and the importance of climate justice\nFind tangible ways to reduce your carbon emissions and start your own climate action plan\nDiscuss our society’s climate silence and develop tools for talking to people about climate change\n\n“I really enjoyed the collaborative nature of the Climate Fresk. Was good to learn and put that knowledge into context.” Fife Climate Knowhow participant\, February 2026 \nThe course includes presentation-style learning\, as well as plenty of opportunities for group discussions\, and climate related games and activities. We know that directly confronting climate change and its effects can be emotional. We set aside time for personal reflection throughout and encourage you to take additional breaks whenever you need. \nLunch and refreshments will be provided. \nBy booking you confirm that you plan to attend both workshops. \nBecome Carbon Literate!\n“I was surprised to learn all the simple\, everyday ways we can make changes to do ‘our bit’ and reduce our own carbon footprint.” Fife Climate Knowhow participant\, February 2026 \nOur Fife Climate Knowhow course meets the Carbon Literacy Project Standard. By attending the two workshops and completing a short form you can become certified as Carbon Literate. Being Carbon Literate means gaining the knowledge\, confidence\, and practical skills to reduce your own carbon footprint\, and inspiring and influencing others to do the same. There is no cost to you if you wish to become Carbon Literate\, and we can support you through the short process. \nWho Should Attend?\nPolling shows the majority of Scots are concerned about climate change and are aware of its risks to Scotland. However\, it can be difficult to identify what we can do as individuals\, know where to find trustworthy information\, or the support needed to act. That’s where the Fife Climate Knowhow course comes in! \nThis course is for everyone living\, studying or working in Fife. You don’t need any prior knowledge or understanding of climate change. Everyone who attends will learn something new\, both from the course itself and through group discussions with other participants. \nPlease let us know of any support you may need to be able to take part in this course. \nBooking Information\nThe event is free but booking is required. You can choose to purchase a ticket with a donation. Donations help us do more work in our community. \nBy booking you confirm you plan to attend both sessions.  \nOur booking form includes a series of optional anonymous questions. These help us learn more about the people we reach through our events. SUMMARY:Family-friendly litter-picking at Seafield
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a family‑friendly coastal ramble and litter‑picking walk from Kirkcaldy to Seafield Tower led by Rubbish Rangers. \nTake part in a relaxed coastal litter‑picking walk designed for families\, children\, and anyone who loves being outdoors. Together\, we’ll explore a stretch of the Fife Coastal Path\, enjoy time in nature\, look out for local wildlife (including the local Seafield seals)\, and help keep our coastline clean. From toddlers to teens and adults\, everyone can join in and make a positive difference. \nThis event is planned with kids in mind\, so the pace of the walk and litter-picking will be adjusted to little participants. Seafield Tower will be the end point where participants can rest\, enjoy a snack\, and hopefully spot seals relaxing on the rocks\, before returning to the car park. \nThe walk itself is child‑friendly\, but the rocks around the tower and the nearby coastline are very uneven. Children must remain under close adult supervision in this section\, especially if they climb onto the rocks to get a better view of the seals. \nAdditional Information\nPlease note that this event is weather-dependent. In the event of forecast adverse weather\, Greener Kirkcaldy staff will decide whether to go ahead with the walk the day before. We will contact attendees via phone and email if the walk cannot go ahead. \nDress for the outdoors – wear appropriate shoes and clothing. Bringing water and light snacks for young kids is advised as well. As this event is organised with children in mind\, dogs are not permitted. \nLitter pickers\, high‑vis vests for kids\, bin bags\, and children’s gardening gloves will be provided. Disposable gloves will be available for adult participants\, but you’re welcome to bring your own gardening gloves if you prefer. \nBooking Instructions\nThe event is free but booking is required. You can choose to purchase a ticket with a donation. Donations help us do more work in our community. \nOur booking form includes a series of optional anonymous questions. These help us learn more about the people we reach through our events. Any information you choose to share about your background is managed separately to information that you give us to process your booking (for example\, your name). \nIf you are having trouble booking you can call 01592 858458 or email info@greenerkirkcaldy.org.uk for assistance. \nAccessibility information\nThere are accessible parking spaces on site. The area covered during the event will be mostly flat\, with one or two slightly steeper sections. This route is accessible for more robust buggies and wheelchairs; lightweight strollers may find some areas challenging \nToilets are available nearby at Morrisons or slightly further at the East Basin Car Park at the end of the prom. \nPlease let us know of any accessibility requirements when booking
