DESCRIPTION:Come and explore a scenic route along Kirkcaldy’s coast and up to Gallatown.  \nThis walk is being run in partnership with Kirkcaldy Ramblers. It is the first of three walks\, which together go all the way around Kirkcaldy. The subsequent walks are being run on 15th and 22nd of March.  \nThis walk is 5 miles long\, with a total ascent or 150m (500ft). Paths will be pavements or hardcore with some steps\, and the route will include crossing one beach section. Please make sure you wear warm\, waterproof clothing to suit weather conditions\, and sturdy walking footwear suitable for muddy conditions. Remember to also bring your own water and snacks. \nWe will be meeting on Kirkcaldy Prom\, at the Basin car park (near Morrisons)\, and finishing on Rosslyn Street\, south of Gallatown roundabout. SUMMARY:Fuel Efficient Driver Training
DESCRIPTION:No matter how well or efficiently you think you drive\, you can always pick up some useful tips in our FREE Fuel Efficient Driver Training (FEDT). Car technology and road infrastructure have changed\, so our training can help you drive more efficiently. In our last campaign we helped almost 100 people in our community save an average of 15% on their fuel consumption. \nFEDT is an informal training session that lasts 50 minutes and takes place with an Approved Trainer. Here is what our trainer James Coutts has to say about the course: “The first thing I always say is that it’s not a driving test (you’re not going to get a telling-off for crossing your hands on the steering wheel and you won’t be asked to perform an emergency stop!). The aim is to make the training very relaxed and enjoyable and the benefits are endless: participants can gain substantial savings by reducing fuel; less pollution from your car thus protecting the environment; and less wear and tear on tyres and brakes etc.” \nThe trainer provides the car\, fuel and insurance. You’ll complete a circuit twice\, once before training and again after training. Miles per gallon is measured for both circuits so you can work out how much you can save. \nPlease note – you must bring your valid driving license with you or you won’t be able to do the training. \n  \nBooking Information\n\nThis event is free\, but booking is required. DESCRIPTION:Our climate cafe is a new monthly event to bring people together and inspire sustainable living. We’ll have guest speakers\, films and discussions and together we’ll explore ways we can help reach Scotland’s goal of net zero emissions by 2045. \nRefreshments will be provided. \nOur theme for December is the creation of winter traditions and behaviours and how these fit or conflict with low carbon living. DESCRIPTION:Join us on the eve of Scotland’s national saint St Andrew\, to celebrate 10 years of Greener Kirkcaldy. We love an excuse to have a party\, so please join us at a traditional\, family friendly ceilidh with music provided by local award winning accordionist James Coutts and his band\, and some special guests. If you don’t know your Strip the Willow from your Dashing White Sergeant\, he’ll guide you through every step. Don’t worry if you’ve never been to a ceilidh before\, we just want you to have fun and help us celebrate.  \nThere will be a cash only bar with a selection of beers and wines\, as well as soft drinks. We’ll be serving a supper of Haggis Stovies and homemade tablet. You can also try your luck in our prize raffle – we’ll be selling tickets on the night (cash only). Keep an eye out on our website as we reveal our raffle prizes. \nDoors open at 7.30pm with dancing starting at 8pm. We’ll break for supper at 8.45pm\, announce raffle winners at 9.15 and resume dancing after that.
