DESCRIPTION:Further to the Government’s recent update on COVID-19\, we have taken the decision to postpone all of our events from now until the 15th May. Full refunds will be given. \nWe are reviewing the situation daily and will give regular updates on future events\, including new dates for postponed events. \nBring your own project and sew with others at our new fortnightly ‘Sew and Chat’ group. \nWhether you’re struggling a bit with a project and looking for advice\, or just want to meet new people and sew in a group\, we’ll be meeting every other Wednesday for a fun evening with lots of chat\, tea and biscuits\, and\, of course\, plenty of sewing! \nAll abilities welcome. Bring your own project (including your materials\, threads etc.) to work on. It can be anything from the basics to ballgowns! It’s a social evening\, so there’s no formal teaching\, but our sewing tutor\, Gabbi\,will be on hand for guidance\, advice and help. \nWe’ll have some sewing machines available for people to use. Refreshments will be provided. \n£5 per session – payable on the night. No need to book.

DESCRIPTION:Join us to celebrate the launch of our new building and The Lang Spoon Community Kitchen – a place for people to come together to cook\, eat and learn. \nCome and look round our new community building\, which includes two community kitchens\, an events space\, a kitchen garden\, a new distribution point for Kirkcaldy Foodbank\, and is the base of our Cosy Kingdom energy advice team\, free bike borrowing scheme (which includes 6 electric bikes!) and new Community Fridge. \nWe’ll have tours of our kitchens and soft drinks and nibbles. We’ll also be joined by a very special guest to help us celebrate our launch – Jamie Scott\, Head Chef and Patron of The Newport Restaurant\, and BBC Professional MasterChef winner from Fife. Rag work used to be common in rural\, mining and fishing communities where every scrap of fabric had to be reused in some way. DESCRIPTION:Like any computer\, iPads require a little bit of maintenance to keep them running smoothly and efficiently. Luckily\, this is simple and easy to do yourself once you know how! \nCome along to our workshop with IT expert Sherv and learn how to clear your iPad’s memory\, clean the screen\, optimise battery life\, back up your data and keep it protected and bug free. \nOur small class will ensure that there is plenty of time to ask questions. The workshop is specifically aimed at Apple iPads and it would be best to bring your iPad with you. There will be plenty of handouts to take away. \nThere is disabled parking on site and the venue is wheelchair accessible. In this one day course\, you will be upcycling a small piece of furniture that you will take away at the end of the day. You’ll learn all the skills and techniques in furniture upcycling that you can then apply to other pieces of furniture at home. \nA tasty lunch will be provided at the on site cafe. We will be sewing on machines and learning some basic applique techniques. \nSuitable for beginners and advanced stitchers. However\, if you have a cushion pad or material you would like to use\, or a sewing machine you would like to work on\, feel free to bring them along. \nClarabella Christie is an experienced textile designer who runs courses and workshops in Dunfermline.
