SUMMARY:Plate Up for Fife
DESCRIPTION:The food we buy and eat has an impact on Climate Change in many ways. In this 2-part programme of workshops we will look at how we can make more climate-friendly food choices in our daily lives. Join us for our Plate Up for Fife workshop programme where we will focus on two themes: \nWorkshop 1: Reducing our food waste -Thursday 23rd May- 6pm – 8pm. We will be talking about common foods that get thrown away and exploring ways to change that. You’ll also be making a dish with leftovers! \nWorkshop 2: Eating locally and seasonally – Thursday 30th May 6pm-8pm. We’ll be talking about the benefits of eating with the seasons and ways to access local ingredients and you’ll make a dish using seasonal vegetables. \nWe’ll also be discussing ways we can reduce our meat and dairy consumption\, reduce packaging and eat healthily. It’s important to attend both workshops to get the full benefit of the programme. Please do not book if you have attended a Plate Up for Fife Workshop in the past. \nThere will be lots of information to share about the workshop topics to help generate discussion and have fun learning from each other! \nPlate Up for Fife is part of Climate Action Fife – a Fife-wide partnership project\, bringing together individuals\, communities\, local government and businesses to tackle the climate emergency. It is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund’s Climate Action Fund. \nThis is a hands-on cooking class where you will be touching\, tasting\, and cooking food. Please bring containers so you take the food you make home. \nIf you have any dietary requirements or allergies\, or if you would like to talk about any of the ingredients we will be using in the workshop\, please let us know when you are booking. \nThis event takes place in our Lang Spoon Community Kitchen in Greener Kirkcaldy’s Community Building. Find out how to get here. \nBooking Information\nThis event is free but booking is required. Donations are welcome to support the work Greener Kirkcaldy does in the community. \nIf you have any problems booking or any questions\, please phone 01592 858458 or email info@greenerkirkcaldy.org.uk. \nAccessibility\nThere are accessible parking bays available outside 8 East Fergus Place.
