SUMMARY:Garden Saturdays
DESCRIPTION:Come and spend a Saturday morning with us at Ravenscraig Walled Gardens and learn about organic growing through a hands-on session working in the garden together. Activities will vary from week to week\, but might include planting\, weeding or harvesting. \nNo experience is necessary\, and we welcome you to come to as many or as few sessions as you would like. \nSessions will include a brief introduction to the garden and health and safety briefing; a range of activities relating to growing fruit\, veg and flowers\, as well as a break for refreshments\, and plenty of chat! \nWe want these sessions to be as accessible as possible\, and can adapt tasks to different requirements. Please let us know any accessibility requirements in advance if possible. \nUnder 18s must be accompanied by an adult\, and are the responsibility of the adult. \nPlease dress for the weather and wear sturdy footwear. If you have your own gardening gloves please bring them. In the event of severe weather we will let participants know if we need to cancel the session. \nBooking Information\nThe event is free but booking is required. You can choose to purchase a ticket with a donation. Donations help us do more work in our community. \nOur booking form includes a series of optional anonymous questions. These help us learn more about the people we reach through our events. Any information you choose to share about your background is managed separately to information that you give us to process your booking (for example\, your name). \nIf you are having trouble booking you can call 01592 858458 or email info@greenerkirkcaldy.org.uk for assistance. \nAccessibility\n\nThere are accessible parking spaces on site. Please note the terrain is mostly flat and the paths are gravel. The venue is outdoors with the exception of the working cabin. \nSome work may be done in the orchard area of our gardens which is not recommended for wheelchairs due to steep access and narrow and uneven pathways\, let us know if you would have issues getting the the orchard area as we can adapt the session to take place in a more accessible area. \nIf you have any other accessibility questions please phone 01592 858458 or email info@greenerkirkcaldy.org.uk.
