You’ll chop\, stir\, season\, and taste your way through a selection of dishes that celebrate the region’s sociable approach to eating — small plates\, big flavours\, and plenty of conversation. DESCRIPTION:Discover the art of fermentation in this practical\, hands-on workshop and gain confidence to make kraut and kimchi at home. \nParticipants will learn and explore how simple ingredients can be transformed into nourishing\, gut-friendly ferments. \nYou’ll make seasonal kimchi to take away\, along with recipes and suggestions so that you can experiment at home. A brilliant use of leftover vegetables. \nYou’ll learn how to introduce fermented foods to your diet in easy and accessible ways. \nWe’ll taste fermented foods and discuss the benefits for our health and wellbeing\, this will include seasonal kraut\, fermented veg and kimchi. \nAdditional information \nThis class is suitable for vegetarians/vegans/dairy-free/gluten-free. \nIf you have other dietary requirements\, please email info@greenerkirkcaldy.org.uk before booking so we can let you know if the workshop is suitable. \nAll dietary requirements must be stated at the time of booking so the correct ingredients can be purchased. \nWe do everything we can to reduce the risk of cross contamination\, however we cannot guarantee a completely allergen free environment and therefore our kitchens may be unsuitable for those with severe or life-threatening allergies. \nAprons and equipment are provided. This hands-on workshop is a joyful journey through winter traditions from around the world – a chance to slow down\, get creative\, and connect with the heart of seasonal celebration. \nTogether\, we’ll explore three beautiful bakes that each tell a story: \n\nrich marzipan-filled stollen from Germany\ngolden Saffron Buns of Sweden’s Saint Lucia Day\nbuttery\, aromatic Festive Spiced Shortbread – a creative twist on a classic Scottish biscuit\n\nWhether you’re a seasoned baker or simply love the magic of festive food\, this workshop offers a cosy\, welcoming space to learn\, create\, and take home treats that will light up your winter table. These recipes are more than just delicious\, they’re steeped in culture\, warmth\, and the spirit of sharing. \nYou’ll leave inspired and ready to continue baking at home. \nOur workshops are fun and informal and our tutors will support you in preparing the recipes. We’ll chat and answer questions as we go. \nThe course is suitable for beginners and people with some experience interested in trying out something new.
