Volunteer
Could you spare a couple of hours a week to help our community save money and be more environmentally friendly? We’re looking for people with enthusiasm and an interest in community development or the environment – we’ll give training, support and a friendly working environment.
We’re currently looking for volunteers in various roles -
- customer service – from greeting visitors to the advice centre to giving information and advice
- helping out on our stalls at events (you must be outgoing and enthusiastic – we’ll give full support!)
- putting up posters around town
- helping with our events and giving talks to clubs and groups
- to join our management committee (details of this opportunity are below)
Volunteer management committee members (trustees)
Greener Kirkcaldy are planning our projects and priorities for the future and are seeking two new volunteer management committee members (trustees) to help shape and support the organisation’s development. We currently run a successful community project helping local people to reduce their carbon footprints and fuel bills, from our advice centre in Kirkcaldy. We hope to continue and extend this project, and develop a range of others in the coming years – including a community orchard within Ravenscraig Walled Garden, and increasing the amount of renewable energy produced in Kirkcaldy.
We are seeking individuals with an interest in environmental issues and community development. We are particularly interested in hearing from people with expertise in marketing, fundraising, business or developing social enterprises. Committee meetings are held monthly at present. These positions are unpaid but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
How to apply
